Leo with the first drum he ever completed in early 2000 |
Cajone (which simply means box or case) is a popular percussion instrument throughout the Caribbean and South America, particularly Peru.
Treefrog Percussion Cajons are made entirely from high quality birch plywood and finished with at least three coats of diamond finish varathane. All corners are cove jointed for increased strength. They are snareless (some rumba style cajones come with snares), but the top corners of the playing surface are slightly raised to be able to get a very cracking tone. The bass tone is full and rounded. The cajon sits on durable rubber feet.
Leo loves to use his cajon for a seat at gigs where it doubles as an extra drum - particularly good for small stages. He has received many comments on the great tone and look of his instruments. Quite simply and outstanding Cajon for the price.
